Noticeboard

A step forward from a simple FAQ is to use the discussion board as a noticeboard. Messages can be posted to a discussion board in the same way as to a physical noticeboard in a corridor, but with a number of advantages. By utilising the discussion board as a noticeboard you make information there available to students logging in from home or away from the university, rather than in one single physical location. You can not only post messages but also attach documents to these messages, so if you wish students to complete a module registration form which can then be returned electronically, the need for someone to enter data recorded on paper copies manually will be reduced. You can also utilise the inherent features of a discussion board to encourage debate about documents posted on the noticeboard.
